Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
The White Card course is a Nationally Recognised Training Course designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of Work, Health and Safety requirements and procedures used on general building, construction and civil sites. This course is mandatory for all persons working on construction sites in Australia. Training occurs in SA at two Adelaide locations - Lonsdale and Ottoway.
Note: Currently White Cards issued in South Australia are nationally recognised and do not expire.
Duration
1 day (8 hours, Face to Face) 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Entry Requirements
Participants MUST:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or hold an eligible VISA
- Have the ability to read, write, understand and communicate with basic English independently.
Course Fees
- $140.00 AUD (GST exempt)
- $50.00 AUD (GST exempt) with a valid CITB
- $35.00 AUD (GST exempt) with a valid CITB for Eligible D2C Student
The White Card course must be paid for on booking unless alternative arrangements have been made. Training will not be confirmed until payment has been received
Subsidised Training
This course may be subsidised by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for eligible participants visit https://citb.org.au/construction-workers-or-apprentices/short-course-funding to apply.
Note: Tuition and incidental fees will still require contribution by learners if eligible for funding
Content
- Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work
- Identify construction hazards and risk control measures
- Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes.
- Identify incident and emergency response procedures.
Learner Requirements

- Provision of Australian legal photo identification for enrolment purposes.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
To be supplied by participant:
- Closed in shoes
- Long pants; and a
- Long-sleeved shirt (for WHS reasons please do not wear excessively loose clothing)
Outcome
On successful completion of all requirements of this White Card course, learners will be issued with:
- A Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- Wallet Card NB: this card will be issued within 14 days of training along with your Statement of Attainment.
