Posted on July 06, 2026
ATEC is proud to congratulate Board Member Julie Durand on being named the winner of the Outstanding Leader or Business Owner award at the 2026 Master Builders SA HiViZ Women Building SA Awards.
The awards celebrate the exceptional women who are making a significant contribution to South Australia's building and construction industry, recognising leadership, innovation and commitment to creating a stronger, more inclusive sector.
As State General Manager of Burbank Homes SA, Julie has transformed the business from a startup into a stable, profitable and fast-growing operation. Leading a team of more than 45 staff across construction, operations and sales, she has successfully guided the organisation through challenging industry conditions with resilience, transparency and strong commercial leadership.
Beyond her business achievements, Julie is a passionate advocate for workforce development and creating opportunities for others. She is committed to mentoring emerging leaders, supporting women in non-traditional roles and fostering inclusive, high-performing workplaces. Her leadership also extends across the industry through her roles with ATEC and the Construction Industry Training Board, where she continues to champion skills development and the long-term sustainability of South Australia's construction workforce.
ATEC was delighted to have several team members attend the HiViZ Women Building SA Awards Lunch alongside representatives from CME Group, joining industry leaders in celebrating the outstanding achievements of women across the sector.
The event also provided an opportunity to celebrate Tiana Tattersall, a CME electrical apprentice, who was recognised with a nomination in the awards program. Being nominated is an achievement in itself and reflects Tiana's dedication, enthusiasm and the positive impact she is already making early in her career.
Representing ATEC and CME Group at the awards were Cale Porter, Olivia Hudson, Sam Oxford-Solly, Ben Marsh and Tiana Tattersall, who joined colleagues and industry peers in recognising the inspiring accomplishments of this year's nominees, finalists and winners.
Congratulations to Julie on this well-deserved recognition, and to Tiana and all those acknowledged through the 2026 HiViZ Women Building SA Awards. ATEC is proud to celebrate the achievements of women who are helping shape the future of South Australia's building and construction industry through leadership, innovation and a commitment to excellence.
