ATEC Recognised as Finalist at the 2025 SA Training Awards

Posted on October 03, 2025
Three of South Australia’s leading not-for-profit training providers – ATEC, MTA, and PEER – were honoured as finalists in the Large Training Provider of the Year category at the 2025 South Australian Training Awards, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
The award, presented annually by Skills SA, recognises organisations that deliver nationally recognised training, demonstrate a strong commitment to learners, and show sustained industry engagement and innovation. This year’s finalists highlighted the critical role of not-for-profit Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), which collectively support around 4,000 apprentices across South Australia.
Congratulations go to MTA, who was named the winner of this prestigious category on the night.
As a finalist, ATEC’s achievement underscores its reputation for innovation, employer-responsive training, and continuous quality improvement. With over 2,000 students across mechanical engineering, fabrication, carpentry, and electrotechnology, ATEC plays a leading role in supporting apprentices, school leavers, and job seekers to gain industry-ready skills.
In June 2025, ATEC officially opened its new $1 million Carpentry Centre of Excellence, a state-of-the-art facility designed to expand carpentry training capacity and help address the state’s shortage of skilled tradespeople. ATEC is proud to be the largest private provider of construction and manufacturing apprentices in South Australia, currently training more than 1,500 apprentices in these industries, including over 900 in carpentry alone.
Together with MTA and PEER, ATEC continues to deliver high-quality training that is responsive to industry needs, strengthens workforce development, and supports South Australians to build sustainable careers.
