Manual Handling Awareness

This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to undertake a range of manual handling tasks safely to reduce the risk of injury to yourself and others in their workplace.
Suitable for all workers involved in manual handling.

Note: This course can be customised to meet specific industry manual handling requirements covering Section 19 of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act, the primary duty of care for the PCBU.

Written and verbal activities
Practical activity

Entry Requirements

Be able to speak and understand English
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Have the physical ability to perform specific practical skills relating to manual handling techniques

Legislative requirements
Characteristics of hazardous manual tasks
Identify potentially hazardous manual handling tasks which are performed in the workplace
Assess risks associated with these identified tasks
Correct manual handling techniques
