The skills learned in First Aid courses & CPR training are invaluable every day and often required in various career fields.
Wherever you may find yourself in situations where emergency medical assistance is needed, the skills learned from completing a First Aid course or CPR training will be beneficial.
The first aid courses offered by ATEC will equip you with the necessary skills to respond effectively to cardiac arrests, injuries, and other medical emergencies, depending on the course you choose to undertake.
If you are required to have one of the following qualifications for your employment, your employer will advise you. However, pro-actively seeking out a First Aid qualification may make you more attractive to a potential employer in any of the following fields:

This list gives you an idea of the varied industries in which these skills are valued, but it is not exhaustive. Being knowledgeable and prepared in first aid and emergency response is a valuable skill that can make you a helpful and reliable employee in any workplace.
In emergencies, every second counts. Your ability to act quickly and efficiently can significantly reduce the response time until professional medical help arrives, which can be critical in certain situations.
Important requirements to undertake these courses
Participants must be 16 years of age, be an Australian/NZ citizen or hold an eligible visa and have the ability to read, write, understand, and communicate with basic English independently.
Physically you must have the ability to perform two (2) minutes of uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a resuscitation manikin on the floor.
For UETDRRF004 - Perform rescue from a live LV panel you may require licencing or registration for electrical work in the workplace.
Cardio- pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR Training) Course
ATEC follows the guidelines supplied by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) so that once you have completed this course you will have the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to Australian Standards.
We offer a morning course (duration 3.5 hours) HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in which you will learn the DRSABCD flow chart, standard precautions to take, basic anatomy and physiology and legal requirements to be aware of, among other topics.
This course is also available in CPR Express format, which allows you to complete online pre-course learning with assessment in your own time, plus a one (1) hour practical assessment conducted in person.
Provide First Aid Course
This comprehensive first aid course will enable students to deliver complete first-aid assistance in various emergencies. From minor injuries to life-threatening situations, this program equips you with the knowledge to respond swiftly, confidently, and compassionately.
You will learn basic life support following the DRSABCD action plan, how to use an automated External Defibrillator (AED), airway and anaphylaxis management and what to do in a cardiac emergency among other potentially life-threatening situations.
This first aid course will provide participants with a well-rounded skill set to assist in a wide range of situations, and on successful completion of all requirements of this course, you will have achieved the qualifications of Provide First Aid (HLTAID011), Provide Basic Life Support (HLTAID010) and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009).
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid requires attendance at a full day (9:00 am to 4:30 pm) face-to-face training session plus approximately 2-3 hours of pre-course online reading & theory assessment.
Low Voltage Rescue and Resuscitation (LVR/CPR)
Managing accidental electrical shock requires specific knowledge to assist the injured person and keep yourself and others out of danger.
If you are working in the electrical services industry, you may be required to obtain this certification due to the environment in which you are working.
You will learn principles of low voltage environments, how to identify and label the isolation point and how to perform a rescue from a low voltage panel. The course also includes information on legal requirements and Safe Work practices.
Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel (UETDRRF004) also incorporates CPR training via Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) and upon completion you will gain attainment of both. Please note that HLTAID009 will be completed first and need to be signed off first before UETDRRF004.
