Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel
Incorporating HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to perform rescues from live Low Voltage (LV) electrical equipment using a Low Voltage Rescue Kit and manage the danger of accidental electric shock, as well as perform CPR on an unconscious person. This course applies to all electrical workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a situation that can arise in an electrical services industry.

Entry Requirements
Participants MUST:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or hold an eligible VISA
- Have sufficient digital literacy skills to complete online learning and assessment
- Have the ability to read, write, understand and communicate with basic English.
- Have the physical ability to:
- Perform two (2) minutes of uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
- Lift, drag, or carry a casualty mannequin (20–30kg)
- Use an insulated crook to remove a casualty and perform a simulated LV rescue.
Course Fees
- $180.00 AUD (GST exempt)
- $30 AUD (GST exempt) with a valid CITB number

- Identifying and labelling the isolation point
- Performing a rescue from a low voltage (LV) panel

- Suitable modest attire; and
- Closed in shoes
Outcome
On successful completion of all requirements of this course, learners will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for:
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- UETDRMP018 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel
It is recommended that LVR training is renewed annually to maintain currency and meet industry requirements defined by the Office of the Technical Regulator in line with the Electricity Act 1996 and the Electricity (General) Regulations 2012.
