Health and Safety Representative Training - Level 1
This SafeWork SA approved HSR 5 Day Initial Training Course is designed to give newly elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) the knowledge and skills needed to promote and ensure the health and safety of their workplace.
Under section 72 of the SA WHS Act 2012, an employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR to attend a HSR training course that is approved by the regulator (SafeWork SA) and chosen by the HSR in consultation with their employer.
The objective of this course is to grow the knowledge and skills of participants, supporting elected HSRs to fulfil their role, perform their functions and exercise their powers.

5 days/7 hours (Face to Face) - 9:00am to 4:30pm

Entry Requirements
Participants MUST:
- Be an elected Health and Safety Representative in your workplace and provide registered HSR ID number.
- All participants will need their employers to register them as a Health and Safety Representative via the Safe Work SA portal: https://app.safework.sa.gov.au/licence/home:
- Be able to speak and understand basic English
- Have basic literacy and numeracy skills to read, interpret and complete basic documents and forms
Course Fees
- $1155.00 AUD (GST included)
- $490 (GST included) with a valid CITB Number
Subsidised Training
This course may be subsidised by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for eligible participants. You can visit the CITB short course funding page to apply.

Courses must be paid for on booking unless alternative arrangements have been made. Training will not be confirmed until payment has been received

Learner Requirements
All participants will need their employers to register them as a Health and Safety Representative via the Safe Work SA portal.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
To be supplied by participant:
- Stationery (pens/pencil & notepad)
- Suitable modest attire and enclosed footwear
Outcome
On successful completion of all requirements of this course, learners will be issued with:
- A Certificate of Attendance
